Pay monthly website design vs upfront payment website design.
If you've been looking to get a new website or want to update your current website design, you may have come across website design agencies (like us at Lollipop Rocks) offering pay monthly website packages. Wondering what the benefits are? let's take a look...
So what's the difference between a pay monthly website and an upfront payment website?
Payments
Pay monthly website design you pay monthly for the duration you have the website, whether that is 6 months or 6 years. If you pay upfront for your website, the cost is front loaded, so you pay for the whole website immediately.
Hosting
With a pay monthly website your hosting is included within your package. If you pay upfront, hosting is an additional monthly cost which varies depending on the level of support required.
On-Going Support
If you have a pay monthly website package you get ongoing support from our team, who will assist with website design changes, updates and package upgrades as your business grows and develops. We are always here to help. With an upfront payment website, if you want any changes to your website design, you will need to get a developer or a website design agency to they will be chargeable.
Re-designs
If after a few years you want to update the look and feel of your website, you can with our pay monthly website design packages. We can work with you to update your branding to suit the direction your business is growing in. With upfront payment websites a re-design would mean a new upfront payment.
Ownership
With a pay monthly website design package, ownership of the website design remains with us. You will retain the rights to all the content and imagery provided and of course you are welcome to take that elsewhere if you wish. If you have an upfront payment website you have full ownership of your website, which means you can take it away and host it wherever you like. You will need to pay an agency or developer if any changes are required to your website (which might not be cheap).
Contracts
With our pay monthly website design packages, there are no contracts, so you just pay monthly for the website as long as you need it. With upfront payment websites, if your business does not go as planned (which fingers crossed, won't be the case!), you will have handed over a lot of money upfront, for a website you can no longer use.
Upgrades
Having a pay monthly website means you can upgrade (or downgrade, if you need to) at any time. For example, your business may be booming and you want to add a shop for customers to purchase through. Or you might want to add a blog to add SEO value to your website and give more content for your customers to devour. Or you may need to add more pages as your services increase and your business grows. All of this is possible with a pay monthly website - just give us a call and we'll work with you to upgrade your website. With an upfront payment website, you would need to pay a design agency or developer to add or remove items or pages from your website.
So how do you decide which one is best for your business?
All businesses are different, and pay monthly website packages are great for helping new and small businesses get off the ground.
