Our step by step process for creating your pay monthly website

Looking for more detail about what actually happens behind the scenes once you agree to one of our pay monthly website design plans?

Look no further. We’ve created a step by step plan below, so you know what happens every single step of the way.

1. Get In Touch

First thing’s first. Send us a message, or give us a call to let us know the basic details about your business eg company name, logo, business overview and number of pages you want on your website.

2. The Nitty Gritty

The team at Lollipop Rocks will get in touch via phone or email, whichever you prefer, to ask you for more information about what you want to gain from your new website. The more information you can provide at this stage, the more understanding our design team will have about you and your business. Which really helps us with the whole design process. Here’s a list of things which are really helpful to us at this stage:

  • A paragraph about your business
  • A paragraph about the services you offer
  • A list of the services you offer
  • Images of your business, services or product (If available)
  • A list of brand colours or preferred colour palettes
  • The objective of your website
  • Examples of other websites you like

3. The Copy

If you are providing your own copy we will use this to create a site map and a user journey. Get some copywriting hints and tips here. If copy writing isn’t your thing, talk to us. We have a copywriter here who would love to help write the content for your website. Copywriting isn’t included within the website packages and is charged at £50 per page, payable in advance.

4. The Branding

f you already have brand guidelines, then brilliant - we can use these as a fantastic starting point to develop the look and feel of your website. If you only have a brand logo, don’t worry - our design team will use your logo as a starting point to create some colour palette mood boards for your website. We will usually take the main colours from your logo and add in some complimentary colours which balance well with your current colours. We usually select somewhere between 4 and 6 colours for your brand palette with a mix of light and dark hues. If you don’t currently have branding or a logo, talk to us - we offer a logo design service. Our logo design service isn’t included within our monthly packages and is charged at £100, payable in advance.

5. The Website Layout

Now we have all the elements ready, we look at the user journey plan and pick out the key sections we want to promote on the website home page. Your home page should give customers the information they need clearly and concisely, without them having to search too hard to find it. Key information for your home page design should include the following:

  • What you do / sell / offer
  • What it costs
  • A list of main services or products
  • Imagery of services or products
  • Clear call to actions
  • Easy to locate contact information

6. The Website Design

Time to bring all the elements together and create a working mock up of the your new home page. Our team carefully design each section of your home page to really show off your business. We design a version for desktop, tablet and mobile to ensure a seamless user journey for your customer, no matter what device they are using. When the designers are happy with the home page design it will be uploaded to our test server and you will receive a link which you can view your website home page on.
