Blog Layout

Now I have a website, will I appear on the first page of Google?

The short answer is unfortunately, no.

Actually if we're being honest, the long answer is also no. Getting to the top of search engine rankings is no easy feat. It takes a lot of time, effort and hard work to get that high up on search engine rankings. It is absolutely doable, but it's a long game.

So how do you get higher up the page on search engines?

Create lots and lots and lots of content.

Creating pages of viable content makes your website appear more authoritative and gives search engines more content to search through for keywords. Use videos, blogs, social channels to create tons of content about your brand, engage with your customers and drive traffic to your website.

Pick 1 or 2 keywords that you want to get 'found' for.

Use these keywords regularly within your content, but don't overdo it. Link these keywords back to your homepage too, this helps your search engine ranking.

Invest in a blog

A blog is a great way to add keyword rich content to your website. It's also a great tool to give customers loads more info about your products or services. It gives you a platform to put a more personal approach to your brand and really boost customer engagement.

Engage with your customers

Having social channels where you get customer engagement is a great way to increase your brand awareness, get people to follow you and in turn, drive traffic to your website.

Advertise

You have got to advertise your business. Just having a website won't do it I'm afraid. You have got to market it, through any channels you can, otherwise nobody will find it. The more traffic you drive to your website, the more viable search engines deem your website.

Marketing your website can be a bit hit and miss to start with, but don't give it 1 month and give up. You have to try different methods of marketing such as Adwords, Facebook Ads, even print advertising such as local magazines. Try different methods and different budgets until you find something that works, then stick with it.

Regularly update your website

Search engines like to see that your website is being managed, so regularly updating your website helps with this. If you invest in a pay monthly website with CMS access (such as our Premium Plan - just saying),  you can have access to make small updates to your website whenever you like!

Get an SEO agency on board

If you've got the budget, this is a great way to increase your SEO and drive traffic to your website. SEO agencies will create content for you, write blogs, create links from other viable websites, guest placements, improve your onsite performance where possible. All of these things will increase the ranking of your domain.
