Designing a Website For A Candle Business Start Up

We love working with local businesses, so when Last Ember in Manchester contacted us to work on their new candle making start up venture, we couldn't wait to get started.

The team at Last Ember had set up their candle making business during lockdown, and worked hard at getting some sleek branding, fantastic product and they already had a strong following on social.

The Brief

To design a minimalistic ecommerce website with easy customer journey, online purchasing functionality, stock management and CMS capability for easy management of orders.

The Design

Natural colours, clean, minimalistic and Scandinavian in style.

The Imagery

Having strong photography of your products in use is a great thing to show on your website. Last Ember had a fantastic selection of photography which we could use across their pay monthly website design.

The Process

As with all our clients, we asked the team at Last Ember to give us some background information about their business and an idea about how they want their website to work. This gives us here at Lollipop Rocks a great place to start when designing the website.

Getting Started

At Lollipop Rocks we really do want to help small businesses with their start up ventures. So we design the first page of your website for free! No payments, no contracts...it's that easy!

The Shop

Once the design and layout had been signed off we built in the ecommerce platform. Having ecommerce functionality on your website allows people to purchase items through the website. It allows you to manage your orders, see at a glance where each order is up to, manage your stock levels and add and remove products.

At Lollipop Rocks, we will set up a few of your shop categories for you and add in up to 20 products. Then we teach you how to use the platform and you are up and running to manage your shop!

If you have a lot of products, they can be easily managed using a spreadsheet, which automatically updates the website...easy!

Final Stages

When the team were happy with the final layout of their pay monthly website design we send it for final testing. This means we test the layout across different platforms and devices, check all the pages render correctly, test all the contact forms and test the shopping cart.

SEO

We complete an SEO checklist on all of our website designs, to make sure they are optimised for search engines.

Ready To Launch

The BIG day.....time to launch the new website! We worked with the team at Last Ember to get their website launched as quickly as possible. Now they are up and running and selling a great range of candles nationwide.
