Work Signpost For Carers

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Signpost For Carers are an independent local charity supporting carers for more than 30 years. They were looking for a fresh new update to their website design, which was easier for both their staff and their clients to use.

Having been in business for over 30 years, Signpost For Carers already have an established look and feel to their branding. So we took their logo and their brand colours as a great starting point for the new website design.

DESIGN PROCESS:

With the team at Signpost wanting a fresher look for their new website design, we started by carefully selecting a range of great imagery which showed what their role in the caring community does. We designed up the main website pages with full bleed images and bold blocks of colour to pull out key messages or events.

Our main aim with the website design was to create a more modern look to the website whilst making it easier to navigate and maintaining Signpost's existing branding.

The team at Signpost For Carers promote a large number of events throughout the year, which are managed by their in-house teams. We added a large events blog which can be fully managed by the staff who work at Signpost For Carers, enabling them to add information about events, images, plus event details such as times, dates and venues.

THE BLOG: IN DETAIL

We have designed the blog pages for Signpost For Carers with their working processes in mind. We designed up a number of categories which the blog post can fall into (it can have more than one). Each blog category has its own layout, which can then be edited and posted to the live website by the team at Signpost.

For example, the event blog posts look similar to the image shown on the right. The team can add in the copy about the event, the location, the start time, end time and date. Plus they can add their own image for the page header. Once published, this page will automatically appear on the events page.

The same will happen for other blog categories, whether it's a creative group, activity or a support group, once published, the blog will appear on the corresponding website page. This ensures that the team at Signpost For Carers can update the website with their current events and activities easily and efficiently.

ONGOING PROGRESS:

We are continuing to work with the team at Signpost For Carers to further develop their website as they continue to grow. So look out soon for more exciting developments such as member areas, online bookings and much more.
